**Auto/Diesel Mechanic** Location: Arvada, CO Employment Type: Full-Time S&M Auto & Diesel is seeking a reliable and experienced Auto/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles while providing high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. We are looking for someone with strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment. We value hard work, honest service, teamwork, and a positive, drama-free workplace. **Responsibilities** * Diagnose mechanical and electrical vehicle issues * Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks * Repair or replace vehicle components such as brakes, suspension systems, steering systems, batteries, belts, hoses, and other parts * Conduct vehicle inspections and identify recommended repairs * Use diagnostic equipment and tools safely and effectively * Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records * Communicate repair recommendations and vehicle concerns clearly to management * Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe * Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines * Test drive vehicles as necessary to diagnose problems or verify repairs * Perform additional duties as assigned **Qualifications** * Previous automotive repair experience required * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work in a garage/shop environment * Ability to work overhead and in confined spaces, including under dashboards and in vehicle beds * Basic computer and diagnostic software skills preferred * ASE certifications are a plus but are not required **Requirements** * Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record * Must maintain legally required automobile insurance coverage at all times * Must successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment * Must be authorized to work in the United States **Work Environment & Physical Requirements** * Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting * Exposure to vehicle fluids, tools, loud noises, and shop equipment * Ability to work in varying temperatures in garage, shop, and outdoor environments
